Although it has only been 12 weeks since the last Congress, we are already in the thick of things planning the upcoming 30th Congress! This is testament that the Society is committed towards making next years’ event a phenomenal success.
As promised, we organized the 2022 Congress last July, ‘face-to-face’. Though many were sceptical due to the usual Covid related concerns, we are happy to report that the meeting was indeed a resounding success. There was a total of 750 registered delegates, of which 569 were specialists. This was exactly what we had previously predicted and promised. While OGSM has always looked into the interests of trainees and nurses, we were also informed that the industry places great value in meeting specialists, especially those in private practice, as they are your direct customers and many of whom are difficult to meet due to their busy schedule.
There were 10 metallic sponsors in the 2022 Congress and the standard booths were completely sold out as usual. Feedback from the industry was that they especially appreciated the interaction with the many private ObGyns that were in attendance.
It is also worth noting that the number of specialists who had registered as delegates exceeded expectations, and that most of them were self-paying. This is evidence that the OGSM Congress is still very much regarded as the ‘premier’ scientific event of the year and despite lack of delegate sponsorship from industry last year, many private ObGyns still attended. This would be in stark contrast to the many other meetings held early this year that attracted a sizeable crowd but was unfortunately composed mostly of trainees and paramedical staff. While this serves the ‘education’ purpose well, it may not contribute optimally from the ‘business’ perspective.
We are confident that next years’ congress will be equally successful if not even better! In recognition of the industry’s unwavering support to OGSM over the years, we will maintain the design of our sponsorship packages to include all the elements that provide sponsors their highest ROI. Therefore, in addition to dedicated lecture slots (either with pre- recorded lectures or live speakers), sponsors can also have the privilege of post-congress OGSM-hosted webinars and even have their sponsored lectures available online hosted by OGSM post-congress for a fixed duration.
